Thanks for your comment, I must say that I was referring to my own experience when I said the comment about loved ones, it was after I'd said I do have a lot of common ground with NDEs in some instances. Tunnels in OBEs do happen, I have experienced them myself, as well as seeing those who appear to have passed away. The point is that they are not 'key' features of the OBE state, as opposed to the NDE state - I hope that clarifies.

Recently, I have been looking at the OBE reports at OBERF site. When asked about how OBEs and NDEs relate, Graham said that there was no going through a tunnel to loved ones in the OBE as is the case in NDEs~~ however, I have read several OBE accounts where people have met loved relatives where they met with love. One very interesting acoount was a woman who flew through the dark and was met by a male being with long hair who had light aura, and she met with unconditional love whereupon he embraced her. She emphasized that this loving embrace was beyond any words, and was deeper than her sexual relationship--she said it was a spiritual orgasm. As a resuklt she said he sexual life suffered somewhat, because of comparing it with this intimacy.

Thanks for your comment, I'd like to reassure you that having out-of-body experiences is nothing to fear. I have been having OBEs for nearly 25 years and have never encountered anything that led me to doubt what I was doing. I did feel fear early on, but that was simply because I was dealing with the unknown. Most things that we do not fully understand seem scary at first, but when we become familiar with them we find they are actually positive. In the case of OBEs I have found them to be the most amazing and life-changing events in my life - I really would like more people to be able to fly free of their bodies and travel in this way.

I had the great fortune of meeting Graham at the Parsonage Side Retreat in Somerset, where he gave a frank talk about his exposure to 'out of body 'experiences.

First of all, so you understand, I am a believer, a believer in that there is 'more'. I am also a synic in that I look for evidence.

This book covers in detail Graham's experiences from a child through to adulthood, but more importantly highlights his thought processes in wanting to understand the phenomena. In that quest he uses science, global religious texts and intuition in an effort to understand. This resonated with me in a big way. Here is a man that for whatever reason is able to experience OBE yet rather than take it at face value sets out to examine the 'why' with whatever tools he has at hand; evidence by whatever means.

You can 'feel' the emotional struggle, as a reader questions start to arise, as if by some divine inspiration your questions get answered later on in the book.

This is a guy that understands quantum physics and all sorts of stuff I've never heard of, an intellect..............way beyond me. Yet somehow this is an easy read written in such a way that you are able to fully understand and almost experience what he describes. There is little text on this phenomena, because it is such a rarity, so to read in such rich detail the experiences of a man that is able to almost at will do OBE is fascinating. The book is from the heart of an enlightened man.

I'm not a great reader, something really has to take my eye and spike my curiosity - this did. I'm also pleased to report Graham has released a second book as a follow up......my order is going in now!

Hi there,

As I have experienced OBE for the very first time in my life last week, and it really did scare me, I am interested to attend this workshop. I am currently a student and I am kindly asking as to whether you have student rates to attend this course. I am currently studying psychotherapy (existential/person centred) and having experienced an OBE for the first time, has left me somewhat bewildered/confused and also curious.

Many thanks
Stephanie Bowen

Graham, I just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed your very balanced and thoughtful commentary on the Amazing Meeting event. What you distilled in your article was essentially what I've felt (and no doubt others as well) to be so true about the curious lack of scientific 'free inquiry' (which can make science so attractive in the first place) which can be so conspicuously absent in some very vocal 'scientific' figures of publicly-appointed authority.

My personal interest has also been in the study of OBE's and similar phenomena with an open and inquiring mind and it never ceases to amaze me that those who are so strongly antagonistic to exploring further human potential in this particular area, are often fuelled by an irrational and intensely emotional desire to remain close-minded, rigid and arrogant - the very antithesis of a humble, researching mind which is held awe-struck by the magnificence of what we can behold in life...and which I feel science should embody a great deal more.

Thank you for all that you do and what you contribute... You have my support as well as many others, I'm sure. :)
